The food is delish! I can only speak for the breakfast, I haven't tried their lunch. Anyone who knows me knows that I love grits but I never order them out because they are never like my gmas grits (lol) Well today I ordered. I saw all the great grits reviews and said just do it! Let me tell you THEY ARE BOMB!!!! I didn't even need to add sugar (i did anyway) but they are good. The french toast is good and they have scrapple to help feed my country side! Love this place for breakfast. The service is always pleasant!

This is one place that does not lie. They claim to have the best grits in the DMV. They are right. Do they lay it on a little thick with the butter? Yes. But the taste more than makes up for it. Pancakes, French toast, home fries, bacon... home cookin' at it's best. And the people that work there are super-nice. You want good down-home comfort breakfast food? Go to Young's. You will not be disappointed.

Arriving to this location I was surpirsed to see bars on the window of the restaurant. Normally this would be my turn around point but my husband wanted to try the club sandwich so bad. Walked in and my first impression was that it was empty around lunchtime, another turn around point. I was greeted and walked up to the counter to place my order. The man who took my order was nice and patient with me. I ordered the French toast platter with a side of grits and the turkey club on wheat. I waited about 10 mins and was on my way home. My platter was good, everything cooked to perfection and seasoned well. The potatoes were my favorite on the plate, the French toast was so good that I didn't need the syrup provided by the restaurant. The grits were good but that's it, don't expect these grits to blow your mind lol. The club sandwich was dry and tasted a bit brunt. We added mayonnaise and ended up scrapping off some brunt bread. Took a star away for the outside appearance, doesn't really scream "welcome, come eat here" and the sandwich, but All and all I would go back to this restaurant.

The first thing you must do is call your order in. They can get amazingly slow. I waited 30 minutes on a Saturday morning with my Sandwich lukewarm 2.5 stars but my corned beef hash super hot 3.5 stars. So I'm like hey why don't you make my order at the same time a LUKEWARM sandwich after 30 minutes of waiting is totally BS. This was the second time as the first time I went there was a wait maybe 10-12 minutes not too bad. And the food was great. I had a sausage egg and cheese on a croissant 3.5 which was very good and a side of potatoes 2 stars which I have had better. My Wife had the corned beef hash 4 stars which was made to perfection and also enjoyed a Bacon Egg and Cheese on a Croissant 4 stars. All in all I would be back but the only way to really do this is to order in advance. Lots of folks just waiting for food. And there is an option to eat inside and groups 4 and larger will cause a kitchen back up. I will try the grits next time as people rave about it. Also there usually a Asian guy selling DVD's for 5 bucks he has the latest stuff. Hope I brought you business and not trouble. So they are a good option for sure and my other option is Ritchie Highway Deli who does potatoes better.

OMG; I'm so in the love w/the grits. They might've added a touch of sugar. It has a lot of butter which I'm a fan of. However, they are very slow. So on a Saturday morning you might run into a crowd. Very popular spot.

I have been living in this area for years and have past this place about hundred times! I thought it was a regular carry out. Heard so many good things about the breakfast and had to try it. Had the French toast and fell in love!!! So good and the guy that takes the order has such a sweet spirit! Next I will try the grits since everyone speaks highly of it!

French Toast is consistently done right prices are very reasonable. Customer service is excellent. Too much butter on a lot of items would be my only complaint. But they are normally good with leaving the butter off if you ask.

I love their grits and French toast. I personally was not a fan of the salmon cake. They have great customer service. I will deff be back.

The food here was amazing!! I got the French Toast and the grits that everyone else recommended and it was everything!! This was my first time here but won't be my last. It was also clean, great customer service, and fast!

I am a true grit connoisseur. What makes their grits different is that they use milk and butter instead of water. They were really good but I would like to be able to add my own salt. Theirs was a little too salty. I would eat there again.

One of the best breakfast spots in the Capital Heights area....Friendly staff, and the grits....please try the grits. Prices are affordable, but if your local call your order in because they have a large morning crowd.
